History​

Dansk Polyglas A/S was established January 1st 1985 by Knud E. Nielsen, who after 12 years’ of experience in the fiberglass industry, decided to become independent.

From One-Man Business to Limited Company

First products, acid sumps, were produced in the facilities at the little farm by using manual application methods. Word about quality work and good customer care, attracted big customers like Unibolt, SKAKO, Radiometer, Mitsubishi – it all resulted in the expansion of production to bigger facilities and acquisition of Kolding Industri Plast

June 28, 1999 the Dansk Polyglas A/S was formed.

Gazelle Company, generation change and greater capacity

2003-2005 Dansk Polyglas A/S has been awarded for rapidly growing business by leading Danish business daily newspaper Børsen. The same period includes also acquisition of L.T. Glasfiber in Jutland and attraction of more well-know customers as Bernhard Krone and Bombardier. Product portfolio was extended with production of components for refrigerated trucks and fire resistant interior parts for train industry.

January 1, 2006 Knud E. Niellsn went on pension and long planned generation change was finally successfully implemented with his son, Kurt Nielsen.

Spring 2007 company expanded its production facilities and a year later the company was chosen as the business of the year in 2008 by Broby Business Council

New trends and scientific projects

In the spring 2009 Dansk Polyglas A/S started to develop a Lifeguard Tower in fiberglass reinforced sandwich construction. At the same year, the company was manufacturing components for the renovation of the Danish National Bank .

Following years brougt new challenges within design furniture: manufacturing of “The Egg” by Arne Jacobsen, sofa table “Bowl” by Rikke Frost and “The Andersen Chair” byKato.

In 2012 Dansk Polyglas A/S took over all the activities from Fiberteam A/S and continued to develop and manufacture "Environment Boxes" for storing waste oil, chemicals and other hazardous substances..

Furthermore, company was also involved in scientific projects: “Composite materials in a corrosive environment” and “Substitution of materials Offshore”​
